Editor

Jeremiah Creedon is a writer and editor living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has worked for numerous publications, including the Utne Reader, where he served as a senior editor for many years. His articles have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times Syndicate, the Zen journal Mountain Record, Britain’s Geographical magazine, New Internationalist and The Guardian, among other places. He has often written about the impact of art, science and religion on American life.

As a magazine editor, he assisted writers on articles that were later nationally recognized for their excellence, among them pieces featured in two notable anthologies, The Best Spiritual Writing and The Best American Science and Nature Writing series. More recently, as an editorial consultant, he has advised scholars and scientists on book proposals and research papers, written web copy for a Washington law firm and tailored digital articles for several venues, including Wikipedia and the Harvard Business Review. He has a special interest in story-driven journalism, essays and memoirs.

As a book editor, he has guided independent authors through all aspects of manuscript preparation, from researching and developing early drafts to proofing the final text. He also knows when to advise a writer not to put it in writing, but rather step back and check the facts before posting or going to press. Having worked with many talented art directors, web designers, photographers and illustrators, he has a deep appreciation for beautiful visual design and its power to enhance the written word.
